Providing Deeper Protection For 1 Million Varied Users

HEAnet is Ireland's national education and research network, with a user base comprising about 1 million people. As HEAnet CTO Ronan Byrne recently told The Irish Times, HEAnet needed a security solution that would offer not only strong web content filtering and malware protection, but also a way to adjust filtering levels depending on user — which, in HEAnet's case, can mean anyone from an educator to a 12-year-old student.

HEAnet selected Palo Alto Networks to provide what Dermot Williams, managing director of Palo Alto Networks partner Threatscape, describes as a "greater level of granularity" based on such a varied user base.
